Cambridge Exam Preparation Courses at AAC Language Centre are excellent if you need a formal English language qualification. Cambridge test certificates are well recognised by the biggest multinational companies, prestigious colleges and universities, and immigration applications.

The courses at AAC Language Centre will prepare you for the examinations which are conducted by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. You will develop the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills you need to achieve the best result you can. You will also learn special test strategies and life-long study skills to improve your Cambridge performance and help you become an independent learner.

Each week, you will develop some real-life test practice skills. This is an opportunity to familiarise yourself with each section of the test and practise each one under test conditions. You will get ongoing feedback on your progress. On the day of the test, all this practice will make it much less stressful! Our Cambridge test preparation courses all have two mock tests. You receive individualised feedback on your progress and personalised advice for course learning goals.

In our Cambridge English courses, you will learn exam-taking strategies, gain extensive exam practice using course books and past papers, and develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, and learn how to pass the exam with the score you need. You will receive:

Intermediate (PET)

If you are in Intermediate level: The Cambridge Preliminary English Test (PET) course is an introduction to the Cambridge examinations for those students not quite ready for the First Certificate, and accelerate their learning at the intermediate level. It prepares students for the international examination which is held four times a year. You will receive a solid foundation in intermediate-level grammar and learn to develop your skills in the four macro skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

Upper-Intermediate (FCE)

Proficiency (CPE)

If you are in Proficiency level: The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) aims at learners who have achieved an extremely high level of skill in the English language learning. • PET Cambridge – Intermediate (CEFR B1, IELTS 5.0 overall, minimum 4.5 in all bands, or equivalent)

• FCE Cambridge – Upper-Intermediate (CEFR B2, IELTS 5.5 overall, minimum 5.0 in all bands, or equivalent)

• CAE Cambridge – Advanced (CEFR C1, IELTS 6.5 overall, minimum 6.0 in all bands, or equivalent)

• CPE Cambridge – Good Advanced (CEFR C2, IELTS 7.5 overall, minimum 7.0 in all bands, or equivalent)

An English Placement Test is required for the Cambridge Test Preparation Courses, unless IELTS score or equivalent is provided on application.

You can apply for an English Placement Test to find out your level of English and decide study plans prior to departure. The recommended study plan is a guide only as it is based on the result of the written component of the Placement Test and does not include a speaking or listening component. An interview will be organized when you arrive at AAC. The result of the interview will be used together with the results of the written test to decide the best level for the student.
